An eastbound traffic jam has developed between the A27 near Lewes and Southerham Lane, causing delays of around six minutes for drivers.

Traffic builds up near a stretch of road that was closed for several hours yesterday after a truck and motorbike crashed between Beddingham and Southerham roundabouts.

The 35-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident and his relatives were informed.

A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing the death by negligent or reckless driving and was released pending further investigation as part of the investigation.

Officers are investigating the collision and have called motorists or witnesses who may have seen what happened.
