Train strike: Brighton services canceled by Gatwick Express, Southern
There are no trains running on Brighton’s main line due to rail strikes disrupting service providers.
Industrial action by members of the ASLEF and RMT unions means that services are disrupted today due to a shortage of drivers and railway staff.
Trains will also be affected on Saturday morning, with operations expected to start later than normal as a result of today’s action.
Strikes have affected traffic on ThamesLink, Southern and Gatwick Express trains. GoviaThameslink, who operate all these services, operate all trains from Brighton station as well as the surrounding stations.
Today’s strikes follow action taken on Wednesday February 1st which also meant no trains ran out of Brighton.
Traffic on the roads is said to be heavier than normal as those who would normally commute by train are forced to make alternative arrangements.
