Travelodge guest inquiries to DJ with Fatboy Slim in Brighton

Hotels can help with many requests, but arranging a DJ with Fatboy Slim is a bit too much for them.

That’s just one of the bizarre requests Travelodge has received from guests at its Brighton and Hastings hotels over the past year.

The chain has released the list of questions customers have asked, ranging from the slightly silly to the pretty impossible.

Among the strange requests are:

  • “Where’s Brighton Rock?” – Brighton Hotel
  • “When can we feed the stingrays in the aquarium?” – Brighton Hotel
  • “When are The Lanes performing?” – Hastings Hotel

Another request the team received involved a meet and greet with a particular Brighton celebrity.

The question received at the Brighton hotel read: “My son would like to DJ with Fatboy Slim, can you arrange that?”

A Travelodge spokeswoman said: “Wherever possible, our hotel teams will do everything they can to help customers when they are enjoying a good challenge. However, there are some requests that are beyond their control, such as B. arranging a guest’s son to fulfill a lifelong ambition of spinning the decks with Fatboy Slim.”

Other bizarre requests included asking staff to bring a large amethyst crystal to Brighton beach at 7am to be charged by the sun.

Another guest, who was particularly keen to meet players from his favorite soccer team, asked, “Can you arrange breakfast with the Seagulls for my husband?”

Many of the inquiries revolved around the Brighton i360, formerly British Airways i360. One customer asked “Do I need a passport to travel on the BA i360?” Another simply wanted to know when the i360 “takes off”.

Travelodge said there had been an influx of people coming for stays at its hotels as Covid-19 restrictions began to ease in other countries.

The hotel chain also released a list of the bizarre requests it had received across the UK, including a guest asking if she could wear “Meghan Markle’s Giorgio Armani dress from the Fashion Museum for my 40th birthday party”.

Another customer in London asked if the London Eye could be rotated counter-clockwise.
