Travis Scott speaks out about the Astroworld tragedy

Travis Scott launched a safety initiative for the new event, describing it as ‘a multi-level, long-term series of community-focused philanthropy and investments’.

Four months after the Astroworld tragedy left 10 people dead, Kylie Jenner’s partner revealed his latest project, Project HEAL, on Instagram on Tuesday night.

The rapper, 30, explained how he’s spent recent months giving “space to grieve, reflect, and do my part to heal my community” as he announced the new project with 44.6 million followers.

Travis also pledged to “honor the victims of the Astroworld tragedy” who he said will forever be in his heart.

More than 50,000 music fans gathered in Texas for the event on November 5, but when Travis took the stage at 9 p.m., the crowd was already moving forward.

Several people lost their lives in the impact, with one of the youngest victims being nine-year-old Ezra Blount.

One of the four initiatives listed on Project HEAL’s page says it “will address safety challenges for large-scale live events, including funding the Safety Task Force US Conference of Mayors event and a technology product solution currently in development.”

Speaking on his Instagram page on Tuesday night, Travis wrote: “Over the past few months, I have taken the time and space to grieve, reflect, and do my part to heal my community.

“Most importantly, I want to use my resources and platform to work towards actionable change. This will be a journey of a lifetime for me and my family.”

He continued: “While it is easy for corporations and organizations to stay in the dark, I feel as a leader in my community I need to step up at times of need. .

“My team and I founded Project HEAL to take the many actions needed to support real solutions that make every event the safest space possible. I will always honor the victims. of the Astroworld tragedy, who remain in my heart forever.”

Travis concludes: “Give back and give youth a chance is something I have always done and will continue to do for as long as the opportunity arises.
