Trevor Noah has addressed the excitement surrounding Kanye West’s canceled Grammys gig after it was suggested he may have had a hand in the decision.

The 38-year-old comedian wrote on Twitter today, “I said advise Kanye not to quit Kanye,” after the rapper was barred from next month’s ceremony after he shared Instagram posts about his ex Kim Kardashian’s new boyfriend, Pete Davidson, who had followed Noah and thrown racial slurs at him on the platform.

Musician The Game hinted that Noah, who will be hosting the ceremony, may have been behind the decision to ax the dad of four, but Noah seemingly addressed that allegation in today’s tweet.

Trevor has slammed Kanye, 44, for his behavior and angry rants on Instagram, but a source close to the political commentator told CNN he had nothing to do with West being dropped from the Grammys.

“Trevor never asked the Grammys to ban Kanye from performing. He wasn’t offended by Kanye’s Instagram post and Trevor responded on Instagram. The idea that Trevor or his team asked the Grammys to ban Kanye is ridiculous,” the source said.

There is speculation that organizers pulled the plug on Kanye’s performance over fears they might condone his outrageous behavior.

Such antics include him accusing Kim of accusing him of using drugs, hiring a hitman against her, and repeatedly threatening Pete.

A representative of the rapper confirmed this diversity that West was left out of the line-up due to his “worrying online behavior”.

Fellow musician The Game, real name Jayceon Taylor, has lashed out over the decision – which came just hours after Kanye was temporarily banned from Instagram over his explosive social media posts.

The Game has indicated that it suspects Trevor may have stopped the musician from participating.

He wrote online: “The Grammys made a last minute decision to pull @kanyewest from the show as if we didn’t know it was coming

“Could be because @trevornoah is hosting and there was a conversation between his team and the academy that led to the decision, or because Ye’s account was suspended for unknown reasons just a few days ago, especially in a world where all the negativity in the world can be found in the same app with no repercussions or exposures.

“In this country, speak your mind for yourself, your family or your people and you will be immediately ostracized and if you push them hard enough they will stop endlessly to try to bring an end to you as a whole.”

“I can’t sleep at night knowing I’ve been silent about issues burning holes in my heart or narratives falsely pushed by the mass agenda to create a mindset that the person in question is crazy or has internal problems that cannot be repaired.”
