Tributes are flooding in for Harry Potter magic shop Oliver’s Brighton

Oliver’s Brighton, a Harry Potter-inspired magic shop on Trafalgar Street, will close when stocks run out.

Oliver Dall, owner and founder, announced the news on Facebook.

Since then, tributes have poured in, with the post garnering hundreds of likes and comments.

Kelly Haigh, from Brighton, said: “Sad times, you have created something very special and of that you can be very proud. My daughter loved visiting your store and I must try to schedule another visit very soon.”

Sue Allen from Newhaven said: ‘Good luck in your new venture. Our family will need to check back before you close. We will miss you very much, we have had so many happy moments visiting you over the years.”

Oliver announced he was closing the shop to devote all his time to his new venture, an alcoholic spirits brand called Wizard’s Gold.

Wizard’s Gold, an all-natural vanilla schnapps from Madagascar infused with 23-carat gold, promises to be “delicious, golden and certainly not boring”.

Thanking fans for the awards, Oliver said he was “absolutely overwhelmed” by the volume of messages.

He said: “I’m so grateful for everyone who is responding positively. It was a difficult decision, but I know in my heart that this is what I have to do in order to give 100 percent to Wizard’s Gold.

“Thank you everyone, you have made this wizard very grateful.”

A fan from Canada left a message.

Sofi Reyes said: “As someone over here in Canada, I am selfishly once again a bit heartbroken that I cannot tick a visit to your wonderful magical shop off my wish list.

“Nevertheless, I wish you a lot of joy on this new path.”

Oliver launched his spirits brand earlier this year and said he wants it to become a household name.

He said: “I want to end on a positive note rather than allow Oliver’s deflagration.”

Oliver will convert the retail space into offices for his new business and convert the top floor into an Airbnb.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me over the past five years,” said Oliver. Tributes are flooding in for Harry Potter magic shop Oliver’s Brighton
