Trump hosts fundraiser for financially troubled Rudy Giuliani

The former president appears to be taking things a step further reported promises of help Giuliani after the former New York City mayor traveled to Mar-a-Lago with his own attorney to ask Trump to pay Giuliani’s mounting attorney bills.

Shane Goldmacher of The New York Times shared an invitation to the Sept. 7 event at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, announcing a roundtable with “President” Trump and Giuliani, followed by a dinner with “America’s Mayor.”

Giuliani, who was charged with Trump on election interference in Georgia, also faces legal and financial jeopardy elsewhere. He is being sued by Dominion and Smartmatic for falsely claiming that their election services biased the 2020 election in President Joe Biden’s favour. He’s also sued for defamation by two Georgia poll workers and by a former employee who accused him of forcing her to have sex.

But many critics on social media felt no sympathy for Giuliani and opted to host the fundraiser on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
