Due to the travel chaos at Birmingham and Manchester airports, TUI has offered passengers the option of using the baggage drop-off service the evening before their flight

TUI passengers on the way public holidays This week they are being offered the opportunity to drop off their luggage the night BEFORE their flight as the chaos at Easter Airport continues.

There are a number of Reasons for the airport chaos in peak season including Covid-induced staff shortages, with passengers such as Manchester Airport reporting hour-long queues.

In fact, British holidaymakers have already been there requested to arrive as early as their airline allows.

However, TUI has issued an update for families who will be traveling for the Easter holidays in the coming week.

The airline has advised passengers to arrive as usual – which for TUI flights is “two and a half hours before departure for short and medium-haul flights and at least three and a half hours before departure for long-haul flights.” “

However, for passengers with morning flights, the holiday giant is offering an earlier bag drop option to ease the pressure.

A statement from the brand said: :If you have a flight that departs before noon, you can check in your bags between 2pm and 9pm the day before departure. On the day of departure, you can then drive directly to the departure.”

The service is currently offered at the following airports specifically for TUI flights. (Although it’s worth noting that this isn’t available for US Holidays and flights).

  • Gatwick – available from April 18 for flights departing North Terminal before noon on April 19
  • Manchester – available from April 18 for flights departing before noon on April 19

The airline also offers self-service bag drop from Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Gatwick, Manchester and Newcastle airports.

TUI added that it will be “directly contacting all our customers traveling over the next two weeks to provide additional advice on traveling during the busy holiday season”.
