TuneCore suspends partnership with Douyin, video platform owned by ByteDance

Douyin is a sister app of TikTok for the Chinese market. Both apps are owned by Beijing-based tech giants ByteDance.

Douyin claims to have an audience of over 600 million daily active users.

The app allows users to record 15-second videos and offers discovery features like a ‘For You’ feed, as well as in-app shopping and live streaming.

In the Chinese market, Douyin claims to be the number 1 short video app in terms of monthly active users and 2nd among all social networking sites, after WeChat.

Today’s news follows TuneCore’s partnership with rival TikTok, YouTube Shorts, in May 2021witnessed TuneCore provide music for the short-form video platform.
