Another wrote: “Obviously, the Oscars crossed the line last night. I don’t need to worry about what MY SON will hear during the Oscars presentation. No broadcast delay for any reason whatsoever. It comes after Oscar organizers announced Will was asked to leave the Academy Awards following his altercation with Chris, but he refused and doing so violated the code of conduct.

The organization said in a statement: “Things turned out in a way that we could not have foreseen.

“While we would like to clarify that Mr Smith was asked to leave the ceremony and declined, we also recognize that we could have handled the situation differently.”

Many have asked why Will was still able to sit in the spectator chair after the slap, but it looks like the academy set the record straight away.

Later, TMZ reported that Will was “never” asked to leave the ceremony, according to sources.
