TWITTER may have stopped working for thousands of users due to a mysterious outage.
Online outage tracker Down Detector is being inundated with reports that the social network isn’t working properly.
Most complaints point to the website and app not loading.
The issue appears to be hitting UK users, but the US may not be affected.
Thousands of complaints were received just after 1pm UK time.
But Twitter still works for some users, so it’s not a mass outage.
We reached out to Twitter for comment and will update this story with each response.
Most of the complaints are related to the website.
A Down Detector user wrote: “Twitter website won’t load on my phone, all other sites work on my phone.”
Another said: “Seems to be in the UK to me.”
Twitter is one of the world’s largest social media websites.
It was first introduced to the public in July 2006 and has since become a global cultural phenomenon.
More than 330 million people use the app every month.
And the company generated an impressive $3.72 billion in revenue last year.
But the app is still dwarfed by Facebook, which has 2.91 billion monthly active users.
