Twitter reacts after Elon Musk denies alleged affair with Google co-founder Sergey Brin’s wife

A Wall Street Journal report alleging that Elon Musk allegedly had an extramarital affair with the now-estranged wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin has drawn mixed reactions and memes on social media.

The report claimed that the alleged fling between the Tesla CEO and Nicole Shanahan in early December last year led to Brin filing for divorce in January, ending a long-standing friendship between Brin and Musk. Unnamed people who were aware of the incident told the WSJ that Musk reportedly apologized to Brin earlier in the year, but Brin still doesn’t speak to him regularly.

However, Musk denied having an affair with Shanahan and tweeted that the WSJ report was “total bs”. The SpaceX founder also claimed that he is still friends with Brin and that they “were at a party together last night.”

Social media users have since shared their thoughts and posted memes about the affair allegations, which came after it was revealed the billionaire fathered twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis in November 2021.

“Why would Musk be criticized for having an affair with one of his friend’s wives? He said he was trying to have as many babies as possible to offset the declining birth rate in the western world,” one person said wrote on Twitterreferring to Musk’s most recent tweet that he “made [his] best to help the underpopulation crisis” after it was reported that he fathered a total of 10 living children with three different women.

Another user tweeted a collage of photos of Musk laughing caption: “Last thing you see before Elon gets your wife pregnant for not repopulating Earth fast enough.”

“In the distant future, 75% of all western peoples will trace their paternal lineage to Elon Musk,” another wrote.

Entrepreneur David Gokhshtein joked: “Elon, I’m hiding my grandma from you.”

A Twitter user poked fun at Musk legal action that he “hasn’t had sex in ages (sigh).”

Some of Musk’s supporters have criticized the WSJ report and called on the billionaire to take legal action against its publication, while others said they believe the report will soon be forgotten.

“Elon, you should sue WSJ for defamation in the UK courts because that’s where it’s being disseminated and the laws are much more sane to prove fault. Don’t let her get away with it. Isn’t that what you want your new group to do? ?” a person wrote.

“I don’t think he should sue. That will be forgotten tomorrow. He’s too busy with too many lawsuits and his friends don’t want to get deposed and have their gossip out there. It will be difficult to prove damage to his reputation (for damages) because he is the richest in the world,” another pointed out.

After the report was released, Musk claims on Twitter that the Wall Street Journal allegedly “published so many BS hits about me and Tesla I’ve lost count!”

He made the claims while responding to a tweet from YouTube personality and self-proclaimed Tesla investor Dave Lee, who called the WSJ report “the craziest hit track of all time” and described it as “shameless”.

“Frankly, they’re embarrassed,” Musk added to the publication. “You once wrote an article that said [the] The FBI was about to arrest me, so I called [the] The FBI asked what’s going on and they said [the] WSJ article was totally bs. Just more shortseller fud.”
