Two arrested after an underground cannabis bunker disguised as solar panels was discovered in Galway

Gardaí have arrested a man and woman (30s and 60s) after a cannabis grow house was discovered in an underground bunker on a site in County Galway.
Magicians released from the premises by Gardaí reveal that the entrance to the bunker was disguised as a solar panel.
As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí, who are affiliated with the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit, seized over €70,000 worth of cannabis and arrested a man yesterday, April 10.
“Gardaí, who conducted the search on an arrest warrant, discovered an underground bunker on the premises. €52,800 worth of cannabis plants and €11,500 of herbal cannabis were seized,” Gardaí said.
“A woman (age 60) and a man (age 30) were both arrested at the scene. They are currently detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act 1996 at Division Headquarters Galway.
“Later in the evening another search was carried out in the city of Galway and a further €6,000 in herbal cannabis was discovered.”
Gardaí said all drugs seized are now being sent for further analysis.
The investigations are ongoing.
