Two big changes to the number plate come from TOMORROW

TWO license plate changes will take effect from tomorrow.
Newly registered cars will be tagged 22 instead of 71 as currently.
And license plates for cars and trucks will be made from a new, stiffer material.
They are said to be more resistant to damage and wear, Birmingham Live report.
And number plates can now only display solid black text.
It comes after panels using different shades to create 3D or 4D effects were banned.
Experts say Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) can read new license plates better.
James Fairclough, CEO of AA Financial Services, said: “The promise of new auto demand in 2022 is welcome news, after a challenging year for the auto industry.
“The impact of Covid and the global shortage of semiconductors has severely impacted new car registrations this year, pushing up demand for used cars.
“Previous AA research shows that the value of some used cars has increased by as much as 57%.
“What we expect to see in 2022 is the second hand market benefiting from resurgent car demand.
“We also believe the way people pay for their cars will change and diversify.
“The economic uncertainty of Covid and the transition to electric cars will continue to affect drivers until the traditional notion of paying full price for a car and keeping it for as long as possible. good is something that is recorded in the history books”.
