Two Irish hotels are among the world’s top 50 at Condé Nast Awards; Adare Manor named #1 resort in the world

Adare Manor was voted the best resort in the world by the readers of the influential Condé Nast Traveler.

Five-star Hotel Co Limerick beat out the likes of Four Seasons Resort and Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai, Uxua Casa Hotel in Brazil and two luxury COMO resorts in Bali to claim first place.

The US Travel Bible’s 2022 Readers’ Choice Travel Awards ranks the world’s best hotels, cities, countries, trains, airlines, cruises and more.

Adare Manor is described as “a thoroughly modern reinvention of a rural retreat” and “a welcoming place without pretense – a remarkably understated lobby and check-in are pleasantly filled with a friendly mix of world travellers”.

Rooms at the resort, which has been at the heart of a multi-million dollar restart by JP McManus and his family and will host the Ryder Cup in 2027, start from €950 a night in November.

The news follows Adare Manor’s #1 spot in the Irish Independent Hot 100 list of the best hotels in Ireland for 2022.

“From the second you enter The Westbury in Dublin and walk up the grand, forked staircase, it’s hard not to be impressed,” said Condé Nast of the Doyle Collection flagship, which has also become Ireland’s No. 1 hotel was chosen.

Readers’ Choice winners are largely chosen by US readers and typically reflect the ways their constituents travel and the places they visit. You can also introduce the winners to valuable future US visitors.

24,000 readers voted for this year’s awards, says Condé Nast Traveler.

“Our result recording for 2022 [a world] that is, to embrace travelers again with enthusiasm,” it adds.

Other awards saw Ireland named the 13th best country to visit in the world (in a list led by Portugal), while Galway was named the seventh best small city in the world (Mexico’s San Miguel de Allende took first place).

Ashford Castle was also ranked as the 7th best resort in Europe.

“The readers of Condé Nast Traveler are inspiring guests of ours who share a passion for excellence and authentic hospitality experiences,” said Brendan O’Connor, General Manager of Adare Manor.

“We are honored that you have chosen Adare Manor as your absolute favorite destination in the world.”

Meanwhile, another hotel in Co Limerick – The Mustard Seed at Echo Lodge in Ballingarry – has been named Ireland’s Best Hotel by the Good Hotel Guide 2022 this week.

“Warm Irish hospitality and superb food are on offer at this Victorian manor house, where the restaurant is a destination in its own right,” it said.

Ballymaloe House in Co Cork also received an Editor’s Choice Award for being “a foodie’s paradise, thanks to its passion for locally sourced food, its cookery school and its cafe,” noted the guide.
