Two men hospitalized after ‘jumping off Brighton Palace Pier’

TWO men have been taken to hospital after reportedly jumping off the pier into the sea.

An eyewitness said part of the beach was closed while emergency services monitored the incident.

Emergency vehicles were seen parked at the entrance to Palace Pier along the road near the seafront around 7pm this evening.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Two men have been taken to hospital after reportedly jumping into the sea from Brighton Palace Pier.

“Police were alerted to the incident around 6.55pm on Sunday 28 August.

“Officials assisted emergency services partners at the scene and the men were left in the care of emergency services and taken to hospital.”

The South East Coast Ambulance Service and the RNLI have been asked for comment.
