Two mile queues due to accident on the A21 near Hastings

The A21 Whydown Hill near Hastings is partially closed after the accident near New England Lane.

The first report was made around 7.15 this morning.

There are over two miles of queues on the north side of the street.

The road has been reported impassable in both directions, but sensors indicate the road remains passable.

Sussex Police are on site and recovery of the vehicles has been arranged.

The emergency services confirmed that there were no injuries at the scene.

One of the vehicles has lost its front axle and is therefore “difficult to clear”.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: A two-vehicle RTC was reported on the A21 near Sedlescombe at 7.20am on September 22.

“Recovery on site from 8.45am.”
