Neighbors told police the girl’s parents had a fight when the 26-year-old father – whose name has not been released – threw the child out of a window
A two-month-old baby has tragically died after her father threw her through a window during an argument with her mother.
Isabel de Aguilar Loesch of Brazil was just 57 days old when she suffered catastrophic head injuries on Saturday May 28 after being thrown from a window.
The tiny child died in hospital after falling five meters into the ground in the Tabajaras neighborhood of Teofilo Otoni in southeastern Brazil.
Neighbors told police the girl’s parents had a fight when the 26-year-old father – who is not named – threw the child out a window.
Isabel’s mother, 36, told police the father was visiting her home to see his daughter, who would have turned two months yesterday, as they don’t live together.
She told authorities that at the time of the tragic incident she was making rice pudding and went to check the pot on the stove, but when she returned she saw her daughter lying on the street.
The victim’s grandmother told police that when her daughter was pregnant, her partner punched her in the stomach and the two often argued.
The father initially fled the scene but later called the police and said he was sorry and wanted to turn himself in.
He was later caught by officers but refused to give his version of events.
The autopsy determined that Isabel’s cause of death was traumatic brain injury.
The 26-year-old father faces a charge of aggravated homicide.
