This version of the Covid virus behaves more like a cold, especially in vaccinated people.

It is milder, again mostly in people who have been stabbed and therefore, it is not necessary to recover more than a few days at home.

But in case you come into contact with anyone who is more vulnerable or who may have a more serious illness, it’s better to know the possible signs you’re carrying Omicron.

According to one expert, the two main symptoms are a runny nose and a headache.

Professor Irene Petersen, professor of epidemiology and health informatics at University College London, told the Independent: “Rinse and headache are symptoms of many infections, but they can also be the first – and only – symptom of Covid.

“Therefore, if you have these symptoms, I encourage you to use an internal flow test for a few days.”

It comes like around 20 Omicron symptoms were revealed to be the ones you are most likely to receive.

This is not to say that there aren’t other ones that can pop up, but these have been reported the most by those who catch the variant.

They documented what they experienced in the ZOE Covid Study – with the top 5 remaining being runny nose, headache, fatigue, sneezing and sore throat.

But the other symptoms in the top 20 including hoarse voice, chills or shivers, brain fog, feeling dizzy, skipping meals and feeling depressed.

Symptoms appear faster than Delta, with a shorter incubation period.

People who experience Omicron symptom is likely to become ill within two years of exposure.

A series of extremely positive studies show Omicron to be milder than other vaccinated strains, with the UK’s first official report showing a 50 to 70 per cent lower risk of hospitalization compared to Delta .

Health officials have repeatedly said the Covid booster shots protect against Omicron and offer the best chance of weathering the pandemic.

The Sun’s Jabs Army campaign is helping to get vital additional vaccines in the UK’s arms to avoid the need for any new restrictions.

The UK appears to be coming out of Omicron’s grip, with 70,924 Covid cases reported yesterday – the lowest daily total in more than a month.

The last time the number of infections fell below 70,000 was on December 14 when 59,610 positive tests were recorded.

This is the third day in a row that the number of people who have tested positive has fallen below 100,000, a promising sign that the country is passing the peak of Omicron.
