Two people have died after a helicopter crash in Yorkshire.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the incident happened near Burton in Lonsdale on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
The accident happened just before noon today on Bentham Road and near the Ingleton Holiday Cottages.
Firefighters and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service also attended the crash, with video from the scene appearing to show it taking off from a field.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A full investigation is underway into the cause of a helicopter crash near Ingleton.
“Unfortunately, two people were killed in the crash. Their families are supported by specially trained officials.”

The force said a total road closure was in place on the A65 and at the Bentham Moor Road junction and had urged people to avoid the area.
The helicopter is said to have landed in a field near Rivers Edge Caravan Park.
Resident Ben Slinger, 35, said locals had been told there was a pilot and at least one passenger on board.
He said he spoke to other locals at the scene who believed police and firefighters were looking for a person who may have “jumped off” before the helicopter went down.

He said: “The helicopter was on fire. We heard the pilot was alive, but one or two other people were missing and may have jumped from the helicopter before the crash.
“I think police helicopters were looking for someone. We checked it out as it’s just around the corner and someone said so.
“Firefighters were sweeping up and down the fields and there was a police helicopter with a thermal imaging camera.
“It certainly looked like they were looking for someone. We could see the fire brigade searching the fields.”

Ben said his attention was only drawn to the crash when an ambulance arrived at the scene after noon.
He said: “I haven’t heard anything. The first thing I heard was the ambulance. I then looked around to see what was going on.
“Not many helicopters land around us. I know the person who cultivates the field. My first concern was that something would happen to him.
“Then I found out it was a helicopter crash, which was a shock.”
