Derbyshire: Mysterious object spotted in sky

A UFO with flashing red and green lights has been sighted over a Derbyshire town, leaving residents perplexed.

Around the same time, plane spotters reported that several planes had been prevented from landing East Midlands Airport last night.

The unexplained object was captured on camera by Bill Pearce, who filmed it from a residential street in Long Eaton.

In the five-minute footage that is made available Derbyshire Live, the UFO hovers in place as Bill and another viewer talk about what they see. The viewer remarks at one point: “We may be on X-files.”

Bill Pearce told the outlet: “When I came home from a pool match, my neighbor was outside waving something in the sky.

“At first I looked out and thought, what is this? ‘Cause it changed colors and what have you. A few years ago I saw a white light in the sky and it darted over to one side and stopped and then did it again to another and then it just took off and it wasn’t a plane, but I never saw anything on the news about it.

“People seemed to think it’s a drone when I put the video on Facebook and some comments said it’s a plane but it’s not a plane because it wasn’t making any noise.

“I think there were some issues that led to aborted landings at East Midlands Airport last night so they may be linked.”

According to Flight Radar, several aircraft had delayed landing at East Midlands Airport during the night of Thursday 9 June and into the early hours of Friday 10 June.

The plane’s trajectory shows some circling the airspace over Leicestershire before being cleared to land.

East Midlands Airport spotters have theorized that the vehicle was in fact a Drone from the nearby Download Festival.

Thousands of music fans descend on Donington Park for the UK’s biggest rock festival, taking place this weekend, starting today and running through Sunday. They speculated that a fan might have launched a drone.

As reported by The Mirror, another UFO was recently caught on camera hovering over a housing estate, allegedly in Huddersfield, for more than an hour.

The silent, dark-hued flying object is said to be reminiscent of those reported by observers around the world in the 1940s.

The clip appears to show a dark object with lights at the bottom in a triangular shape, and it doesn’t appear to be moving at high speed.

The hour-long footage was shared The Skywatch Explorer YouTube channel.

It’s not clear when the clip was filmed, but it was uploaded last month by UFO hunter Mick Proctor, who runs the channel.
