UFOs once appeared to disable nuclear missiles housed at a US air force base, one politician has claimed.
Tennessee Republican Tim Burchett claims he obtained the bomb information when two other officials denied they were being investigated by Task Force Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP).
Congress recently held a public hearing on UFOs with key witnesses Scott Bray and Ronald Moultrie.
Both Mr. Bray, deputy director of naval intelligence, and Mr. Moultrie, undersecretary of defense for intelligence, claimed that the UAP task force failed to investigate the alleged incident.

He said: “The interesting thing is that at the time I received a text message from someone who knows.
“And that said, ‘Actually, they’re not telling the truth — that’s a documented thing. I saw the file on it – it’s there, it exists. Either they weren’t shown it or they’re lying. “
During the hearing, Mr Bray was questioned about the reports of UAPs flying over “sensitive military installations housing our nuclear forces”.
He said, “One such incident occurred at Malmstrom Air Force Base.”

Tennessee Republican Burchett said that if Congress is serious about establishing the truth, the pilots who witnessed these UFOs must testify.
It comes as a former US Air Force captain said his team saw a giant UFO disable 10 live nuclear weapons at a top-secret base in Montana over 50 years ago.
Captain Robert Salas was the acting commander of a secret underground launch control facility when the alleged incident occurred on March 24, 1967.

He said he was responsible for 10 nuclear missiles and was 60 feet underground when a UFO came by and levitated the facility.
The captain said all the guards saw the UFO and reported the incident to him – and then the missiles were mysteriously deactivated.
Captain Salas said, “While the object was up there, we lost all ten missiles due to guidance and control errors.”
Salas, who was captain at the time, said so bizarre incident unfolded in 1967 when he was acting commander of a secret underground launch control facility at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana.
