GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes revealed that swearing relieves his chronic back pain.

The 62-year-old spoke openly about the severe pain he endured early last year.

He explained how the pain he feels keeps him up at night, leaving him exhausted and in constant agony.

Almost a year later, the former This Morning host admitted that Effing and Jeffing were a great way for him to deal with the pain.

Eamonn wrote for Best magazine: “Swearing has a bad reputation – which I don’t think it deserves.

“I have to be honest, I like a curse or two or three… It makes me feel better. How can someone deal with pain without swearing?”

Eamonn went on to reveal that he’s been struggling with the pain for around six years, so his “sweat box is overflowing”.

“I’m not saying it’s better than some painkillers, but it certainly has an initial short, sharp effect,” he added.

The TV presenter underwent endless treatments including steroid injections and physical therapy to get better.

“About a month ago I did something to my back, I don’t know what,” Eamonn recalled early last year.

“It could have been getting in a car, getting out of bed, or whatever.”

The presenter added at the time that he had scheduled an MRI, which will hopefully pinpoint the source of the pain.

He continued: “The humbling thing about it is when you go on social media, you talk about it with people who are suffering. You realize that age is not a barrier, where you live is not a barrier, how much you earn isn’t. no barrier … so many of you have this chronic pain from all sorts of sources.”

Doctors were eventually able to get to the bottom of his agony and diagnosed the star with a dislocated pelvis. He then revealed that he also had three herniated discs in his back and was doing everything he could to ease the pain.

Since opening up about his back pain, the star has switched from working on This Morning to presenting on GB News with co-host Isabel Webster.

The channel even claimed he wasn’t “treated with respect” towards the end of his time with the channel at ITV.

“I made the jump to GB News because options have dried up,” said Eamonn The guard.

“At the ‘wrong age’, at the ‘wrong stage’ – at some point it becomes very difficult to find work.”

He added: “It was obvious I stopped ticking the boxes for ITV and wasn’t treated with respect there.”
