Before the automatic shutdown, you will see a temperature warning.

It says “Temperature. iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it.”

If you feel your phone is getting warm, stop using it — or even turn it off.

Avoid using powerful apps for long periods of time. This is especially important for gamers, as gaming apps can cause a phone’s processor to heat up very quickly.

If a forced shutdown occurs, move your iPhone to a cool place quickly.
