Temperatures are expected to soar to highs of 19C in south-west England and Wales on Saturday, the Met Office said, although light breezes may bring cooler conditions along some coasts

A change in the weather is expected for the middle of next week

Forecasters are urging Brits to get out and enjoy the warm weather while they can as they are warned of snow and lows of -3C next week.

Most parts of the UK are expecting a clear, sunny day on Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to soar to highs of 19C in south-west England and Wales on Saturday, the Met Office said, although light breezes may make for cooler conditions on some coasts.

Farther north, the forecaster said people can expect a cloudier front with light rain threatening to wash over the North Islands, reports The Independent.

The dry, calm weather should continue through Sunday for most, although the warm weather may be muted somewhat by light fog and clouds on some North Sea coasts.

Warm days are limited, meteorologists have warned, and temperatures are expected to drop towards the middle of next week.

Some parts of the UK could face snowfall as a cold snap could bring light flurries of snow to higher ground in northern Scotland.

From Monday temperatures will start to drop slightly but remain dry and nice for most. And by Tuesday, more unsettled and cooler weather is expected from the middle of next week.

Temperatures are supposed to drop

The Met Office’s chief meteorologist Paul Gundersen said: “Although the UK has had much fine and calm March weather in recent days, a change is afoot from the middle of next week as colder air spreads from the north and the likelihood of rain increases for the most areas.

“There is a chance this will fall as snow on the hills to the north, although we will have more certainty of that in the coming days.

“Being influenced by some volatile weather patterns, we will see a significant drop in temperature for most as colder air moves in from the north.

Forecasters have warned that wintry showers are in store for much of the country next week

“This will cause maximum temperatures to drop into the single digits for many areas and drop below freezing overnight.”

The cold snap is being triggered by a cold mass of air attempting to advance into northern Britain on Tuesday before slowly descending south.

Meteorologists have warned wintry showers are on the horizon for much of the country, although they will be most common in the north and east.

Meanwhile, nighttime temperatures in the north could drop to -3C in remote rural areas, the Met Office added.
