UK Weather: Sunny spells and higher temperatures at Easter
The UK could experience some of the hottest temperatures of the year this Easter weekend, with highs of up to 22C forecast across the country.
Dry conditions are expected across most of the UK ahead of the bank holiday and many people are expecting to make the most of the glorious sunshine.
And as travelers plan their weekend, the warm weather news seems to mean that traveling over the bank holiday weekend will be busy.
The south east is expected to be very warm over the weekend, with temperatures well above average across the UK.
However, the north-west will also see some persistent clouds, making the eastern areas the best destination for sun-seekers over the Easter weekend.

Annie Shuttleworth, Met Office meteorologist, said: “If people are traveling for the sun, then areas farther east are more likely to see this brighter weather.”
“I think mainly for the bank holiday weekend we will see temperatures well above average across the UK and hopefully they could be very warm in the south east in particular.
“Certainly warmer than average, but nowhere near heat wave criteria.
“It’s definitely going to be warmer than the week we’ve just had and last week.”

The warmest temperature of the year so far was 20.8C, meaning highs predicted for the south east over the weekend would set a new record for 2022.
The weather forecaster said: “We will see temperatures generally rising as the week progresses.
“Today (Monday) we are seeing highs of 18, then from Thursday temperatures could reach 20, 21, possibly 22.

“In the southern and eastern areas, we tend to see some sunshine and clearer skies in the afternoon.”
However, some drizzle is expected to accompany the cloud later in the week across the north-west, but is unlikely to cause any disruption ahead of the bank holiday weekend.
