UK’s favorite supermarket announced – with Aldi in second place

Marks and Spencer narrowly beat discount company Aldi to the top. Waitrose came in third with a score of 75, while Iceland and Lidl shared fourth place in the customer satisfaction survey.

Marks & Spencer proves it’s still sparkling as a national supermarket favorite.

The store giant narrowly beat discounter Aldi to the top, with Waitrose in third place.

But Aldi gets 5 out of 5 stars value for money compared to 4 stars for M&S.

Along with Waitrose, M&S is the only chain to achieve five stars for its store appearance and its own branded products.

Iceland and Lidl ranked fourth in the consumer watchdog poll of customers.

The Big Four – Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons – are in the bottom half, while the Co-op is last.

One shopper said of M&S: “Just loved it. Great quality.”

Co-op is said to be “expensive, crowded and long queues”. The Icelandic frozen food chain won the title of best online grocery store, ahead of Ocado and Tesco.

Harry Rose, which one? magazine editor, said: “With the cost of living continuing to rise, many people are looking for quality at the cheapest price.”
