Nasdaq-listed Ultra Clean Holdings (UCT), a service provider to the semiconductor industry, will build an advanced technology cleaning center in Cavan and create approximately 100 jobs.
Headquartered in California, the company is a leading designer and supplier of critical subsystems, components and parts, as well as ultra-high purity cleaning and analysis services primarily to the semiconductor industry. UCT’s Cavan location will be its 15th service facility, primarily supporting Intel and other European-based customers.
The project and UCT’s entry into Ireland was supported by IDA, which is now becoming a client company.
Bill Bentinck, President of UCT Services said: “As a global leader in ultra-clean parts cleaning and analysis, we are proud to partner with IDA Ireland to expand our global footprint and advance our cutting-edge technology.
“This state-of-the-art facility will allow us to better serve and deliver value to our European customer base and capitalize on longer-term growth opportunities.”
Construction is progressing on the 57,000 square foot manufacturing facility at IDA Ireland Business & Technology Park in Killgarry, Cavan. The project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year and will create around 100 jobs when fully operational.
Roles at the new facility will include engineering, manufacturing, facilities, onsite shipping and receiving, quality control, sales and customer service.
Martin Shanahan, Managing Director of IDA, welcomed the investment for Cavan and the Region Northeast. He said the addition of further expertise in the semiconductor industry means Ireland is well positioned to attract more investment in this area.
Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation Leo Varadkar said he was delighted with UCT’s move, adding that Ireland was keen to expand the semiconductor industry.
