Universal Music Publishing Group has inked an exclusive worldwide deal with Authentic Brands Group (ABG), owners of Elvis Presley Enterprises, to represent the late singer’s catalog of songs.
Resley, known to fans as The King, died in 1977 at the age of 42 after one of the most influential careers in pop music.
The new deal, which excludes the UK, includes international hits like Can’t Help Falling In Love, A Little Less Conversation, Don’t Be Cruel, Jailhouse Rock, Love Me Tender and many more.
The deal builds on the existing relationship between the two companies.
In November 2021, they signed an agreement to acquire and actively manage artist brands.
In addition to Presley, ABG’s portfolio also includes prominent brands such as Marilyn Monroe and Muhammad Ali.
The new deal, terms of which were not disclosed, comes ahead of the release of director Baz Luhrmann’s biopic starring Tom Hanks and Austin Butler in June.
Marc Cimino, Chief Operating Officer of UMPG said, “Elvis Presley has had an unprecedented and enduring global impact on music and pop culture
