Once famous for playing Will McKenzie in The Inbetwearies, Simon Bird is now unrecognizable as he is filming a new Channel 4 comedy.

The actor, who also played Adam Goodman in Friday Dinner, is hardly the same clumsy schoolboy character he has portrayed through three films and two.

As reported by Sun, Simon no longer shows off his trademark specifications. Instead, he has been pictured with a bowl-cut wig and a beard.

The 37-year-old also wore an ill-fitting, unflattering gray suit during filming for his new role, which saw him go into a clapping engine.

Simon will star in Channel 4’s upcoming comedy series called Everyone Else Burns.

The six-part series, which will air later this year, will explore life in a super-religious community and question: how does a idiosyncratic family navigating modern life protect them? from the eternal fire of hell?

Other cast members alongside Simon include Kate O’Flynn, Amy James-Kelly, Kadiff Kirwan and Harry Connor.

However, Simon will always be remembered for his role in The Inbetwearies.

The show spanned three series from 2008 – 2010 and kicked off the careers of Simon and actors Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison.

The latter, who plays Neil Sutherland, also looks very different.

In March, the star admitted he didn’t see the hit E4 show’s revival “ever” during an appearance on Lorraine.

The series spawned two spin-off films, released in 2011 and 2014, both of which proved to be box office successes.

A special reunion took place in 2019, entitled Fwends Reunited.

However, this one-off special was not well received and even had to issue an apology from James Buckley, who plays Jay Cartwright.
