“Unscripted” WW1 horror Amnesia: The Bunker postponed to May by SOMA developers

SOMA developer Frictional Games’ “unscripted” WW1 horror Amensia: The Bunker has been pushed back to May 16th from its original March release window.
The Bunker – the fourth game in the Amnesia series, following 2021’s The Dark Descent, A Machine for Pigs and Rebirth – is a bit of a departure from Frictional’s traditionally linear horror stories, promising ‘unwritten’ horrors in a nightmarish semi-final -open world.
Set in the claustrophobic rooms of a dimly lit underground bunker, Frictional’s latest installment sees players play as Henri Clément – a French soldier who is being hunted by an “adaptable” creature from another world. To escape its clutches, players – armed with a revolver and a loud dynamo flashlight – must explore and experiment, using quick thinking to deal with objects, threats, and resources that change with each playthrough.
The studio is addressing its decision to delay Amnesia: The Bunker from its previously announced March release window explained“The team here at Frictional has had a tough winter with a number of illnesses affecting development. We’re a small team and things like that have a big impact on production.”
“Doing justice to the game is important to us,” she continued, “and with these production stops, we don’t want to rush the final product. The team is working hard to make The Bunker as good as possible and a few more weeks will make all the difference it needs.”
Amnesia: The Bunker will be available for PlayStation, Xbox and PC (via steamthe Epic storeand GOG) when the newly announced May 16 launch date arrives. Until then, those who are curious should check out Frictional’s gameplay clips Share on his YouTube page.
