Upcoming game releases for January 2023 – Persona will be ported to Forspoken

WHILE game releases tend to slow down during the holiday season, they’re picking up in full force now that January is here.

Here are the biggest game releases coming this month.

One Piece Odyssey

To celebrate One Piece’s 25th anniversary, a new RPG for the series will be released.

The story, titled One Piece Odyssey, was written in collaboration with the original writer of the series.

Luffy and his crew are stranded on a deserted island and must find a way to get back to sea.

One Piece Odyssey will be released on January 12th for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Monster Hunter Ascension

Originally released as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Monster Hunter Rise is now being ported to all current-gen platforms.

The Sunbreak DLC will be released later in 2023 on these platforms as well.

Rise is the latest game in the Monster Hunter series in which players defeat monsters and collect materials for crafting.

Monster Hunter Rise will be available January 12th for PC and January 20th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S.

Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden

Following the release of Persona 5 Royal across multiple platforms, Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden are coming to a slew of new systems.

Persona 3 Portable was originally released for the PSP and later ported to the PS Vita.

Persona 4 Golden was originally released for the Vita and later ported to PC via Steam. Both are remakes of Persona games originally released on the PS2.

P3P and P4G will be released on January 19, 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Steam and Nintendo Switch.

Engage Fire Emblem

A new entry in the Fire Emblem series is coming to Nintendo Switch later this month.

Engage is a tactical role-playing game where you recruit members into battle that can be knocked down and removed from the game in the future.

Your relationships between each member of your team will determine how well they perform in combat.

Fire Emblem Engage launches January 20th exclusively for Nintendo Switch.


Delayed from last year, Forspoken launches this month exclusively for the PlayStation console.

You play as Frey, a young woman who is transported to a magical world and given special powers.

It was praised for its innovative movement options and impressive boss fights.

Forspoken will be released on PS5 and PC on January 24th.

dead space

A remake of the 2008 survival horror game Dead Space will be released later this month.

You play as Isaac Clarke, a man trapped in a spaceship filled with numerous mutant horrors.

Clarke must fight his way out and find a way to save his partner he has lost contact with.

Dead Space will be released on January 27th for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
