The notice read: “Allergens in all lots and best before dates of Harvest Morn Protein Bars must not be highlighted on the label.
“This may make the products unsafe for consumers who are allergic or intolerant to grains containing gluten (barley), peanuts, soybeans and milk.
“The bars involved were sold in Aldi branches.”
Affected products include all lots and best before dates of the following Harvest Morn bars.

- Harvest Morning Birthday Cake High Protein Bars – Allergy Milk

The FSAI issues food allergen alerts regarding the potential risk to consumers with food allergies or intolerance from a particular food or batch of food.
The FSAI website states: “Reasons for food allergen warnings being issued include undeclared presence of an allergen or insufficient/incorrect allergen labeling.”
It comes after health chiefs issued an urgent recall of raw chicken sold in Ireland.
Over 30 chicken products sold at Lidl, Aldi, Tesco, Dunnes Stores and Glenmore have been recalled.
Western Brand is recalling the expired lots of raw chicken products below due to detection of Salmonella Typhimurium.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland said: “These products were sold as fresh and past their use-by date, but the labels say they are suitable for freezing at home.
“Recall notifications are displayed at the point of sale.”
People infected with Salmonella usually develop symptoms after 12 to 36 hours.
The most common symptom is diarrhea, along with fever, headache and abdominal cramps.
The illness usually lasts between four and seven days and can sometimes be severe enough to require hospitalization.
The FSAI added that the elderly, infants and those with compromised immune symptoms are more likely to have “serious illnesses”.
Consumers who have the affected batches in their freezers have been warned not to eat them.
