Urgent warning for EVERY TikTok user – “Keyboard Spy” monitors everything you type

TIKTOK fans have been warned that the app appears to be able to monitor what you type.

One expert noted that the tech giant can do this in the platform’s native web browser on iOS.

TikTok’s own browser launches when you tap a link in the app.

Tracking every keystroke in this way has raised concerns that sensitive items such as credit card information or passwords could be stolen.

Everything revolves around a code that the company inserts.

“If you open a link in the TikTok iOS app, it will open in your in-app browser,” explains security researcher Felix Krause.

“As you interact with the website, TikTok subscribes to all keystrokes (including passwords, credit card information, etc.) and screen taps, e.g. B. what buttons and links you click.”

Other apps like Instagram and Facebook do something similar, except you can open them with your usual web browser instead if you want.

TikTok, on the other hand, doesn’t.

But there is no evidence that this technology is used for bad purposes.

Krause adds, “Just because an app injects JavaScript into external websites doesn’t mean the app is doing anything malicious.

“We have no way of knowing all the details about what type of data each in-app browser collects or how or if the data is transmitted or used.”

TikTok has confirmed the code exists but has staunchly denied it is used to track users.

“Like other platforms, we use an in-app browser to provide an optimal user experience, but the relevant javascript code is only used for debugging, troubleshooting and monitoring the performance of that experience – for example, checking how fast a page loads.” or if it crashes,” a company spokesman said forbes.
