A US judge has ordered that Britney Spears’ father appear in court to face questions related to allegations of surveillance of his daughter.

amie Spears, 70, will be removed from office within the next 30 days and must also present all the documents requested by Toxic’s lawyers.

The orders were issued during a hearing in Los Angeles on Wednesday, attended by members of the US media.

It comes despite Mr Spears’ claims that all allegations that he spied on the singer using secret recording devices hidden in her bedroom in her conservatorship were “false”.

According to the court ruling, Mr. Spears has now been in hiding for nine months. The day of reckoning for Mr Spears has come.Matthew Rosengart

Speaking outside court after the hearing, the singer’s lawyer Matthew Rosengart told reporters: “Today was a very good day in court for Britney Spears, and it was a very good day for justice.

“Mr. Spears, as the court has determined, has now effectively been in hiding for no less than nine months.

“The day of reckoning for Mr Spears has come… we see nothing but obstructions and stone walls from him.”

He added: “His daughter is finally free. His daughter is married. His daughter is happy. His daughter wants to move on.

“Mr Spears, if he loves his daughter as he claims, he should leave her alone.”

His lawyers tried to get Ms Spears removed, a move her own representatives called “retaliation”.

In November, the pop star was released from a controversial management agreement that gave her father control of her life and finances for nearly 14 years, in November.

The 40-year-old singer and her 28-year-old fitness trainer partner Sam Asghari got married at their home in Los Angeles last month.
