CHICAGO (AP) — Just before she heads off to her fourth World Cup, Megan Rapinoe announced Saturday that she will be retiring at the end of the National Women’s Soccer League season.

“It is with a deep sense of peace and gratitude that I have decided that this will be my last season playing this beautiful game,” said the Olympic and two-time world champion.
