Uvalde’s teacher did NOT open the door to allow the shooter to enter the school, the lawyer says
The unnamed Texas teacher, according to her attorney, recalls closing the door while on the phone to 911 after hearing gunshots

A teacher who was present during the mass shooting at a Texas school locked the door the gunman later used to gain entry to the building, her attorney said.
A senior police official had previously said the gunman, Salvador Ramos, entered Robb Elementary School through an open door before shooting dead 19 children and two teachers.
However, the teacher’s attorney, Don Flanary, said his client closed the door after noticing a gunman was at large. He said the teacher – who was not named for safety reasons – called 911 to report an accident near the school involving a black truck that turned out to be driven by Ramos.
“She saw the wreck,” Mr Flanary said, as reported by San Antonio Express News.
“She ran back inside to get her cell phone and report the accident. She came back while on the phone to 911. The men at the funeral home yelled, ‘He’s got a gun!’ She saw him jump over the fence and he had a gun so she ran back inside.

“She kicked the rock away as she went back inside. She remembers pulling the door shut while telling the 911 to shoot. She thought the door would lock because that door was always supposed to be locked.”
Steve McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, previously said that Ramos fired shots from an assault rifle at several of the school’s windows and entered the building through an open door.
McCraw said the door “shouldn’t be kept open, it should be locked. And surely the teacher who fetched her mobile phone opened it again. So that was an access point that the subject used.”
Flanary said his client’s recollection of the events mostly matches the timeline McCraw provided, but insisted the teacher did not leave the door open. He added that the teacher specifically recalled pulling and holding the door while on the phone with police.
A law enforcement source familiar with the investigation told the San Antonio Express-News that surveillance video and audio from the scene appear to confirm that the teacher removed the rock that was holding the door open.
“She slammed it,” the source said.
