Valve confirms Steam Deck will launch on February 25


Valve announced Steam floorits handheld gaming system, will launch on February 25.

Originally slated to launch in late 2021, the Steam Deck has delayed to February 2022 due to global supply chain problems and raw material shortages.

According to Valve, it will send the first batch of pre-order emails to those who pre-order. Customers will have three days from receiving the order email to make a purchase before their reservation is passed on to the next person in the queue.

The first units will reach customers starting February 28, and the plan is to release new order emails in weekly batches.

Valve will start sending out invitations as soon as 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm UK on February 25th. Order emails are sent in the order that the customer booked and the customer Pre-ordered Steam Deck samples can only be ordered. The reservation will be applied to the final Steam Deck price and shipping is included.

Also, press units will be sent out for full review soon, so expect to see some reviews pop up starting February 25th.

Many people seem to want to use this system, as it is said to be one of the most powerful handhelds available. The fact is, Valve says it has yet to see a game that the Steam Deck can’t handle.

The system will also use a Dynamic Cloud Sync feature for Steam Cloud. The free feature will allow users to seamlessly move between Steam Deck and PC versions of games without having to worry about leaving the game on the Deck. Valve confirms Steam Deck will launch on February 25
