Van Gogh Alive is coming to Brighton in Spring 2023 – how to get tickets

An immersive exhibition of Vincent Van Gogh’s artwork, which has sold out worldwide, comes to Brighton.

Van Gogh Alive, which has previously been shown in 80 cities around the world including London and Rome, will open in the city in spring for a three-month period.

The experience, which uses sensory technology to animate paintings like Starry Night and Sunflowers, will help visitors experience the artworks in new ways at a secret location to be announced later this month.

Brighton and Hove City Council Director of Tourism and Venues Howard Barden added: “We are delighted that Brighton and Hove has been chosen to host the Van Gogh Alive experience, which offers visitors a state-of-the-art experience.

“Brighton is home to some of the world’s best digital technology, so it’s fitting that this groundbreaking marriage of technology and arts is showcased in the city, which is another reason why you should visit Brighton.”

The exhibition, described by The Sunday Times as “glorious, breathtaking but also deeply moving”, includes a life-size installation of Van Gogh’s painting The Bedroom at Arles.

The installation also includes a mirror room filled with sunflowers to illustrate the painter’s sunflower artwork.

The Brighton installation will also include a new Starry Night exhibition, which has never been seen elsewhere.

Bruce Peterson, Founder and Managing Director of Grande Experiences, who curate the exhibition, said: “Van Gogh Alive has captivated audiences around the world, from Sydney to Rome, and our UK tour was a huge success.

“Brighton’s strong artistic roots and immense creative talent make it the perfect place for the next episode.

“Watch this space for updates on the venue and opening dates. See you soon Brighton!’

Tickets are available in a pre-sale period starting Wednesday January 25th for those who have registered with Van Gogh Alive.

More information, including venue, will be released ahead of the Spring 2023 event.
