Vanarama South: Worthing, Eastbourne Borough achieve late glory

Worthing and Eastbourne Borough are enjoying their Sussex derby today – after clinching injury-time winners.

A 2-1 win at Dartford keeps Worthing third in the Vanarama National League South.

Borough won for the first time since opening day as they beat Dulwich 2-1 at SO Legal Community Stadium.

Callum Kealy equalized for Worthing in Kent.

Joel Colbran then saw his attempt deflected from a corner to a very late winner.

Worthing have won three out of three games away and drawn both home games.

Boss Adam Hinshelwood said: “In the second half we controlled a lot of the game and it was very gratifying to walk away with the win.

“With three home wins you would be promoted to a new league.

“The two draws at home were against teams that sat back.

“We played well, just didn’t convert into wins.

“I’m satisfied with the five performances.”

Worthing will check on Aaron Racine and Danny Barker before visiting the borough.

Mitch Dickenson and Shiloh Remy gave Borough their 2-1 home win over Dulwich Hamlet.

Boss Danny Bloor said: “Last week we were at Hungerford and I was very critical of my players.

“As critical as they were last week, I’m proud of them this week.

“We are very much looking forward to going to Worthing.”
