Vanessa Feltz ‘disappointed and shocked’ after ending a 16-year relationship

Vanessa Feltz has told her followers that her relationship with her long-term partner is now “over”.
In a video posted on Instagram, she explains that her absence from social media for the past three weeks is due to her relationship with Ofoedu coming to an end after 16 years.
“Honestly, I don’t know what to tell you on Instagram right now,” Feltz, 60, says in the emotional clip. “And so I just wanted to say that obviously I feel incredibly sad and I’m pretty disappointed and shocked and all that horrible, but also filled with determination.
“I won’t let this defeat me.”
Feltz added that she is happy to “live longer” than her mother, who passed away aged 57, and said: “I am very, very grateful to be alive and I want to continue that feeling and I do. I want to celebrate and find joy and laughter wherever I can.
“I know it won’t be easy, but I’m absolutely determined to do it.”
The presenter, who is also known for hosting a painful aunt segment on This morningconfirm with Sun on Sunday that she had left Ofoedu, who was 10 years younger than her.
She told the newspaper: “As an aunt in pain, I have said many times that once trust in a relationship is lost, it can never be mended or regained. So I must have my own advice on this occasion.

“Who knew I would be single at 60? However, ladies, it is onward and upward and I firmly believe that the best is yet to come.”

On her Instagram post, Feltz received messages of support from her friends in the television industry, including co-workers. This morning host Holly Willoughby, broadcaster Zoe Ball and former Hear’Say singer Myleene Klass.
Carol Vorderman wrote: “He is a… and you survived much worse V… You are a survivor and I can’t wait to hang out with you… as you know.”
Elizabeth Day added: “I love you so much. You are a queen and deserve someone worthy of your shining light. Either way, know that you are greatly loved by so many of us – especially your wonderful daughters and grandchildren – and we will never let you down.”

Feltz first met the Phats & Small Ofoedu singer in 2005 after her divorce from Michael Kurer five years earlier. They got engaged a year later and have remained engaged ever since.
Earlier this year, Feltz opened up about addressing the age gap between her and Ofoedu and said Sunday Times: “Don’t let anyone tell you that the age gap doesn’t matter.
“It was annoying and it got worse, especially since our relationship coincided with menopause, which started on the first day I presented the Radio 2 breakfast show. [in 2011] with a massive flare at 4 a.m. and still going.”
Feltz has two children, Allegra Kurer, 37, and Saskia Kurer, 34, from a previous marriage.
