Vanessa Feltz joins TalkTV after announcing her departure from BBC

Vanessa Feltz has announced that she will be joining TalkTV after leaving the BBC after nearly 20 years on her radio stations.

The 60-year-old will replace Jeremy Kyle as the fledgling network’s 3-hour drive-time host from September 5.

Kyle, meanwhile, will host a new primetime show on TalkTV launching in the fall.

“The glamor of retiring lies on the couch while fragrant Ben (Ofoedu, her partner) is peeling grapes for me,” says Feltz.

“While there are politicians to be dealt with, fat cats to be flattened, scams to expose, and lovable listeners to champion, it is my duty to blow fire into the microphone.

“After an enjoyable stay at the BBC, I am filled with joy when I am invited to discover my hitherto hidden side on Talk TV.

“I will enjoy the intense debate and finally the opportunity to have a personal passionate point of view. Better yet, I’ll start driving. God what luxuries.

“After years of starting at 3:30 a.m., I’m going to have a gig without an alarm clock.

“If I frighten Mayor Sadiq Khan so much that he never dares to set foot in my studio with barely any sleep, stay tuned to see what I can achieve after eight hours with my eyes closed.”

News UK Broadcasting President Scott Taunton said: “Vanessa Feltz is not only a world-class broadcaster, she is a national treasure. I’m so glad she’s joining the amazing talent team at TalkTV.

“Without an alarm clock, I’m sure our viewers and listeners will get the full power of Feltz.”
