‘Verified fans’ get second chance to buy Taylor Swift tickets after sales crash

Some Taylor Swift fans have been given another chance to buy tickets for the US leg of the singer’s 2023 Eras Tour after many were disappointed with online vendors.

On Monday, Ticketmaster, which has faced backlash for its handling of massive demand for Swift tickets, emailed several individuals who had signed up to pre-sell “verified fans” but failed the first time.

In the email, it lets recipients know they’ve been selected for a “timed opportunity” to claim two tickets to Swift’s 2023 tour.

Last month, fans trying to buy tickets for the tour during the pre-sale were met with massive delays and error messages that Ticketmaster blamed on bots and historically unprecedented demand.

That was the most tickets sold on the platform in a single day, the company later said in a statement.

A general public sale planned after the pre-sale was also cancelled, with Ticketmaster citing “insufficient ticket inventory” to meet “extremely high demand”.

Following the hiatus, superstar Swift has expressed her anger and frustration at the fact that fans have spent hours trying to buy tickets for the 2023 tour.

Posting an Instagram story, she wrote: “I am not making excuses for anyone as we have asked them many times if they can meet this type of need and we make sure they can. can do.

“It’s amazing that 2.4 million people have received tickets, but I’m really annoyed that so many of them feel like they had to go through multiple bear attacks to get them.”

“It’s hard for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and allegiance, and it’s frustrating for me to just watch mistakes happen without recourse,” Swift said.

Of those who lost, the pop star at the time said she hoped to “provide more opportunities for all of us to get together and sing these songs”.
