Vernon Kay comes in at number three in I’m a Celebrity 2020

Vernon Kay has protected the manufacturers of I’m a celebrity following criticism from former practitioner Matty Lee.

The presenter, 47, and the professional diver, 23, are both campmates on the ITV reality series, with both starring in the show at Gwrych Castle in North Wales.

The Olympic The gold medalist further stated in an interview last month that the series is in fact “controlled,” although Vernon doesn’t feel the same way about his time at camp.

“It’s not controlled at all. You can do what you want,” Vernon said. He admits that the latest film is different from his series, but he says it doesn’t appear to be over-produced.

He said that the most recent series was “a bit difficult” due to the influence of Storm Arwen, for example, though added: “But as far as I can see it’s not overly controlled.”

Matty suggests that if campmates “do nothing,” producers will come to meet and encourage activity. Then he added: “No, they wouldn’t really say that, but they’re in control.”
