Vicky Pattison reflects on ‘elements’ of her past that she’s ‘not proud of’

Vicky Pattison said she felt “really hurt” when she watched her old footage on Geordie Shore.

She recalls seeing the footage as part of a Channel 4 documentary titled Vicky Pattison: Alcohol, Dad And Me, in which she explored the medical and psychological aspects of alcoholism and talked about being grew up with an alcoholic father.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, she said: “People will probably assume they know all there is to know about me – like, 12 years in the industry, I’d hardly be shy, my whole life. me on Instagram – but here’s the key, this is different, it’s not so honest because it’s raw, and it’s hard, it’s really hard.”

She added: “People have seen Geordie Shore and see 100 hours of footage in 42 minutes, and think they’ve got it all figured out, you know, and they’ve seen a glimpse of it. us and a version of me. that probably doesn’t even really exist anymore, you know?

“So it feels really good to show this side of me and tell my story and hopefully help people in the process.”

Pattison was arrested in 2013 after throwing a shoe inside a bar, injuring a woman and an employee.

She was suspended from Geordie Shore, but returned to the show for two more series and finally quit in 2014.

When asked about watching old footage of herself from years ago, she told BBC Breakfast: “There was a clip in the documentary where I actually sat down and watched some clips of Geordie Shore, and I find it really painful – and it’s not just, like fashion choices, my behaviour.

“I’ve matured a lot and so have I, I think it’s a huge transition period for anyone from their early 20s to their early 30s, but I’ve matured in the public eye, this force you to be a lot more mature. faster, so, no, there were real elements about who I was and who I was then, or at least who I was becoming, that I’m not really proud of. “

A review from The Guardian gave the show three stars out of five, saying it was a “deeply personal, very moving debunking of her upbringing play”.

It added: “She is the absolute gift of a presenter: commanding, charismatic, utterly intelligent, honest and clearly unobtrusive.
