Video: Join us in celebrating The MOTHER We Share: Our EarthBound Story

It’s the second Sunday in May, which means it’s Mother’s Day in many countries around the world (though not in the UK, where Mothering Sunday falls in March). We’re celebrating Mother’s Day in a very special way this year, and lovingly remembering one particular mother who unites Nintendo fans around the world in their adoration – Shigesato Itoi MOTHER Series.

Zion Grassl, a lovely person and one of our senior video producers, spent weeks lovingly creating this video – the centerpiece of our Mother’s Day celebration – and enlisted luminaries from across the spectrum of video game fans and creators to honor and greet the EarthBound games: EarthBound Beginnings , EarthBound and MOTHER 3.

In these conversations, Zion explores the unique nature of this unique trilogy with some interviewees you’ll likely recognize. Yes, you’ll see some familiar faces, hear some familiar voices, and even hear from a certain indie game developer whose work was massively influenced by the MOTHER series. Yes, that Indie game developers!
