The Serious Dancing Game champion has converted to urban life to start farming in the countryside in 2020 – but faces a number of problems including a missing pet rabbit, runaway sheep and his wife Liz, who is very allergic to horses.

The soap star, who played Andy Dingle from 1996 to 2016, moved there with his wife and two young children Marnie and Milo last year.

However, viewers were impressed by the deja-vu moment and suggested that Kelvin’s new show is very similar to Jeremy Clarkson’s Amazon Prime hit series.

One person wrote: “How badly Kelvin Fletcher wants to copy @JeremyClarkson with his new ranch.”

Another posted: “People say BBC makes quality programming. On BBC1 right now is @PrimeVideo Jeremy Clarkson Ripping Farm with Kelvin Fletcher.”

A third commented: “Kelvin Fletcher as the new Jeremy Clarkson is not what I expected to see.”

“So basically Kelvin Fletcher is trying to jump into the Clarkson’s Farm gang. Unoriginal and dull,” another added.

For a first-time farmer, Kelvin begins to learn basic agricultural skills such as shearing as he prepares to purchase his livestock.

Luckily, his neighbor Gilly was there to help.

The family moved from their home in Oldham to the farm on the edge of Peak District National Park.

Their 120-acre farm has an 18th-century cottage, outbuilding, 20 sheep, three pigs and three alpacas.

However, not all fans are disappointed with the new series and are delighted to discover that the soap star has turned into a farmer in real life – after years of playing one on Emmerdale.

One person wrote: “Loved this tonight, interesting to see how it goes. Soon you’ll have a store like Jeremy Clarkson.”

Another posted: “Watching this makes me laugh. Wishing you and your family all the best in your new farming life. Can’t wait for the next episode.”

In an interview with Radio TimesKelvin said it was a “big step forward”, but they were ready to “embrace something new”.

He added: “Often times life is a case of always having to move on to the next thing, and I guess the lockdown is a real pause when you can’t help but be present and reflect.

“Sometimes I wonder if we’ve done too much.

“But I can’t imagine that we’re not doing this now. It burned something inside of me, and I love it.”

Announcing the show, Kelvin told his Instagram followers: “So glad to finally announce this!” He told fans earlier this month on Instagram.

“If you’ve ever sat there wondering what these random farm and outdoor photos are all about, now you know!

“We actually jumped to the bottom and bought a farm!

“A reluctant wife, 2 crazy kids and a husband whose knowledge of agriculture you can write on the back of a stamp! What could happen?!”

DUPLICATED

Kelvin’s new show comes after he and his wife Liz announced the news that they are expect twins.

The couple shared the news on BBC Breakfast today – revealing that they will soon be a family of six, with Kelvin joking: “We don’t do things by half.”

Kelvin known Liz since he was nine years old and they got married in November 2015.

They appeared on the show today to talk about Kelvin Fletcher’s Big Farm Adventure and host Sally Nugent began the interview saying, “You’ve been pretty busy, haven’t you, before you got a farm, with two young children. And you have news to share with us this morning. , It’s a…”

Liz replied, “We’re having two more kids!”

She joked that Kelvin still looked shocked by the news as he explained: “We just found out recently, to add another curve if you like. We don’t really do everything with one. half and then we found out that we didn’t just have one, but two!

“So we’re having twins. It’s an absolute expansion. So in May we’re bringing in baby lambs for the first time. I won’t have babies like that, but it’s okay. It’s going to be a really busy time!”

The show will run for six episodes, all on and on Monday nights.
