YOUR iPhone has a secret button – and there’s a great way to use it.
If you don’t know, you can use the Apple logo on the back of your phone as a button.
And it can perform a wide range of tasks.
In Iphone settings, there is an option to enable a feature called Back Tap.
Simply tapping the back of the phone two or three times can perform many functions.
One of the most common is to ask your iPhone to take a screenshot – to save you from messing around with lots of physical buttons.
Shazam – now owned by Apple – will scan for nearby sounds and identify a currently playing song.
So if you hear a track you like, you can use the Press Back feature to quickly name it.
It’s much easier than manually downloading the app.
And as Elly points out, it only takes you “two seconds” to do.
Her clip has garnered more than 44,000 likes so far, proving it to be a popular form of hacking.
How to use Back Tap on iPhone
To enable this feature, make sure you’ve updated to iOS 14 or later. To do that, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
Then go to your Settings.
Scroll down and tap “Accessibility,” then click “Touch.”
Then scroll down to “Back Tap”.
You will have the choice to enable “Double tap” or “Triple tap”.
Whichever you choose gives you the same options.
Click to see which features you can currently control by double-tapping or triple-tapping the back of your phone.
These include taking screenshots, volume up or down, zooming, scrolling and more.
For example, if you want to use Double Tap to take a screenshot, click the “Double Tap” option and then tick “Shazam Shortcut” or “Screenshot”.
You will now be able to take a screenshot just by tapping the back of your phone twice.
Keep in mind that this feature may not work if you have a thick case.
You can toggle the Back Tap control features or turn it off at any time using the same steps above.
If you want two different functions, choose one on Double Tap and another on Triple Tap.
