Virgin Media launches new channel next month

Virgin Media launches a new First Look channel with premium content.

The media company has revealed schedule details for Virgin Media More, an exclusive platform airing on Channel 100 on Tuesday 12 April.

An important part of the spring program will be Keepthe film adaptation of Graham Norton’s bestseller.

The four-part drama series is set in and filmed in Cork Derry girls Star Siobhán McSweeney alongside Charlene McKenna and Oscar winner Brenda Fricker.

The crime series originally premiered on ITV on March 14 and has received positive reviews in the UK, where critics have described it as a “charming adaptation”.

Directed by Kathy Burke, the film is set in a remote village and follows the story of three concerned residents who become involved in a mysterious murder of local resident Tommy Burke.

BBC presenter Norton, co-commissioned with ITV and with financial backing from Screen Ireland, said he was “extremely excited to see the story and the characters that I created come to the big screen”.

The new channel will also be there trigger point dating Vicky McClure exercise of duty as a bomb disposal expert for the Metropolitan Police Force.

Other highlights include the second series of The Guards: In the K with a bird’s eye view of the Garda members involved in fighting Ireland’s criminal gangs.

There’s also a six-part Cold War spy enthused The IpPress file Set in the 1960s, it follows the exploits of a police officer who becomes a spy to escape military prison.

In terms of sport, there is all the action from the knockout stages of the Europa League and sports stories with Graeme Souness and Mick McCarthy as they discuss their eventful careers with Tommy Martin.

Paul Higgins, vice president of advertising at Virgin Media, said the new channel will give viewers “more of their favorite shows first”.

“Virgin TV customers will be the first to see our top shows, including Irish dramas such as Keep and the most talked about international dramas of the moment such as trigger point and The IpPress filealong with all the sport they love,” he said. Virgin Media launches new channel next month
