Vladimir Putin warns West that Russia will attack new targets in missile dispute with US – World News

In an interview with the state TV channel Rossiya-1, Vladimir Putin said: “We will attack the targets that we haven’t hit yet.”

According to the TASS news agency, President Vladimir Putin has warned the West that Russia will attack new targets if the United States begins supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles.

In an interview with the state TV channel Rossiya-1, Vladimir Putin said: “We will attack the targets that we haven’t hit yet.”

Putin did not specify the goals Russia intends to pursue if Western countries start supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles.

Ukraine is looking for Multiple Rocket Launch Systems (MLRS) – like the M270 and M142 HIMARS to attack troops and weapon stocks in the rear of Russian forces.

US President Joe Biden this week announced plans to give Ukraine precision HIMARS missile systems upon receipt
Assurances from Kyiv that they would not use them to hit targets inside Russia.

Although Russian officials have warned that the US decision to supply Ukraine with advanced missile systems could exacerbate the conflict, Putin said it would not bring about fundamental changes on the battlefield.

He said: “We understand that this shipment (of advanced missile systems) from the United States and some other countries is intended to compensate for the losses of this military equipment.

“It’s nothing new,” he said. “It essentially doesn’t change anything.”

This morning, Kyiv was rocked by a series of large explosions as Russia stepped up its attacks, with witnesses claiming they saw smoke billowing from areas of the capital.

Mayor and former heavyweight boxing champion Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram: “Several explosions in Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts of the capital.

“Services are already working on site.”

At least one person has been hospitalized as a result of the attack, and no deaths have yet been reported.

It is said to have been on the war-torn country’s rail network, possibly to disrupt Ukraine’s ability to send urgent supplies such as ammunition, food and water to areas of fierce fighting.

In recent days, Kremlin soldiers have focused on areas in the south and east of the country, with fierce fighting reported in Sievierodonetsk that almost fell to the Russians before Ukrainian forces struck back.
